Renowned cookery writer, Mridula Baljekar has been flown to India to demonstrate in live food shows in Assam in the North East region of India. The events took place on December 17, 18 and 19 in Guwahati, the capital of Assam.

Mridula demonstrated to a crowd of 250 and used Indian recipes with her own twist which has become her trade mark. She also demonstrated Mediterranean recipes with an Indian twist, which were highly appreciated by the crowd. A gourmet 7-course dinner followed the demonstration, which Mridula helped prepare assisted by local chefs.

Both events were covered by NDTV and Z TV and will be shown on December 24, 2009.

Mridula will be flown back to India in March 2010 to present food shows for India’s prime lifestyle channel, NDTV Good Times.

Cooking with Mridula

Award-winning cookery writer, Mridula Baljekar is launching a series of exciting cooking classes at Newlyns Cookery School in Hampshire. She will be taking hands-on classes, doing demonstrations and corporate team building exercises. The school is situated in beautiful surroundings in Hampshire with an ultra-modern kitchen, fitted with every gadget needed for a professional cookery school. It is just 5 minutes drive from the junction 5 on the M3.

Each class will take you through a magnificent culinary journey through India. You will discover recipes from unknown territories of the Sub-Continent along with a chance to cook the popular and well-known dishes.
